Helpful drinks for Breastfeeding Moms

I admire moms and praise doctors who advocate breastfeeding. My almost 6-month old baby Ivor is still breastfed until now..and yes hopefully past one year. For my firstborn Maia, I only breastfed her for 3 months because when I went back to work, I didn’t believe I could express enough milk for her. But now, with some help of fellow mamas pushing for breastfeeding, there has to be sacrifice on my part. I joined breastfeeding forums and groups and learned a lot. It’s a decision to make and it’s doable even for working moms who are away for 8 hours or more. Invest in a good pump. You can actually save more than buying formula milk.

I’m not a lactation expert, but I want to share these drinks I’ve tried which helped me increase my milk supply.

I recently tried this M2 Malunggay concentrate tea drink that I got from Naturearth. For me, it helped add a few ounces from my usual output. It’s P250 per 1 liter, mixing 4 tablespoons to a cup of water – hot or cold. I prefer it cold. They used muscovado sugar in the concentrate.

Malunggay is high source of beta-carotene, calcium, iron, potassium.

Okra- contains- Zinc, Vit A, Vit K.

Luya – potassium and magnesium.
